Is Radio Better Than Social Media?
Radio Listening vs Social Media Usage:
If you want to increase traffic and get new customers on the Big Island here's what you need to know.
According to a recent Nielsen report, 90% of Americans aged 18 and above listen to the radio weekly, with an average of 13 hours and 16 minutes spent listening to the radio per week.
In comparison, only 62% of Americans aged 18 and above use Facebook, 24% use Instagram, and 22% use Twitter or X weekly.
This clearly shows that radio has the widest reach and is the most popular medium for consumers, making it an effective platform for advertisers to reach their target audience. On the other hand, social media usage is more fragmented, with different age groups and demographics using different platforms.
While social media and the internet have their benefits, radio advertising offers unique advantages that cannot be found in other forms of advertising. With its wide reach, targeted audience, cost-effectiveness, high frequency, flexibility, and ability to engage listeners, radio advertising remains a strong and effective medium for advertisers to reach their audience.
